Morphing Leopard Gecko’s

Gecko Leopard Gecko Lizard Reptile Leopard

And why not?

With the relatively easy care of leopard’s, not to mention how easy it is to incubate their eggs, even a novice can create a Fantastic morph

Morphs first came out to the Farmers marketplace around 1990 with a few bright yellow colored geckos. Shortly afterward, the production of these morphs really started to take hold. Today, there are approximately thirty different kinds of solid morphs.

What is a leopard gecko morph?

Simply put, a morph is what you get when you mate two leopard geckos, called Leo’s, with unique coloring to make a baby with even more distinctive coloring. This baby is referred to as a morph.

These morphs, or’designer geckos’ are in huge demand as their coloring and patterns are unbelievably attractive. Some leopard morphs can bring as high as a thousand dollars and up. That is enough to make anyone with two Leo’s want to try and make morphs.

To get a good leopard morph, it starts with the male. You need one which has a dominant trait regardless of what female he is being bred to. Having a high female to male ratio, particularly if the females have all different colour, also increases your odds for more variety and more successful predator morphs.

You also need to make sure that the pair that you are breeding has colours that complement each other and have the ability to be bred together. As surprising as it sounds, not all leopard pairings will produce decent gecko morphs.

As an instance, not all albinos create albino offspring. If you mated an albino with a non-albino, the subsequent batch of leopard morphs would not be albinos.

Also, there are lots of types of albinos, like the Tremper Albino, the vegas Albino and the Bell Albino that don’t produce albinos when bred together. Even though they look much alike, their genes are simply too dissimilar to receive a leopard gecko morph.

There are two main forms of leopard geckos. While they are called’breeds’ many of them are actually are morphs. The two types are the so-called natural variety, and the single dominant trait kind.

Despite the fact that they’re called the organic variety, these particular sorts of leopard geckos are merely leopard geckos morphs that have been around so long they’re accepted as breeds.

They include the normal, (leopard geckos morphs with yellow/orange and black leopard coloring) the high yellow, (leopard geckos morphs with the orange bread from them but where the stains remain,) the pastel (where the black spots are actually pale tan) and the jungle (rather than being seen those gecko morphs have stripes like a jungle cat.)

These basic geckos are good places to start your breeding collection.

Some of the more popular leopard gecko morphs would be the only dominant trait kind, these gecko morphs are bred for one special trait. And while they’re still leopard morphs, they are also good foundations for creating your own morphs.

These leopard gecko morphs include some of the most popular species such as Patternless, (a leopard gecko with no spots,) Tangerine, (a leopard with the bright orange color) Eclipse, (a leopard gecko with strong black eyes) Giant, (oversized geckos,) Enigma, (calico colored) Carrot-Tail/head (either a bright orange head or bright orange tail) Baldy, (the Leo with no spots on his head) and many more.

Needless to say, these are a few of the more popular morphs, not including the super popular ones like Mack Snows and many morphs of the albino. These are all great foundations for you to construct your breeding group upon.

Beginning with some of these leopard gecko morphs, including some of the ones not mentioned, will certaintly give you healthy, happy and gorgeous leopard morphs.

Breeding your geckos into morphs is a wonderful enriching experience and a fantastic way to make some extra cash!

Regardless of whether or not you decide to sell them, it is always fun to see that egg hatch and your new beautiful leopard gecko morph emerge as a tribute to your hard work and careful gecko selection.

Dogs will bite if provoked

Rhodesian Ridgeback, Dog, Guard Dog

There was a terrible story in the news this week about a baby being killed by 2 Pit Bulls. The story was somewhat confusing to me, but the end result was still the same… the infant and both Pit Bulls are dead. This type of story makes a person’s heart ache… it also begs the question…”how can something like this happen?” After all, both of these dogs were loving members of somebody’s family… not wild strays that roam the streets looking for food. These dogs had titles, beds, food bowls and maybe even a toy or two. They may have played with this kid or given him a lick on his head a couple of times. So, what happened? We may never know. However, what we do know is that regardless of what breed, what size or what nature our puppies may be, there are capable of biting, nipping or knocking down someone causing physical and emotional damage.

The main thing that we as dog owners need to keep in mind about our loving, well-behaved furry creatures is that they are dogs. We might believe them to be the gentlest, calmest and most easy going creatures in the world, but we must never assume that they are not capable of striking when provoked, stepped on or injured. It is in their nature to protect themselves and their nearest and dearest. And, depending on the breed, they might be more responsive than we give them credit for. When we own a dog, we take the responsibility of caring for him… feeding him, taking him outside to potty, exercising him and keeping him in good health. We must also accept responsibility to safeguard him against frightening, unpredictable situations. Anyone who has ever had their dog around a kid knows that children like to pull on noses, poke in ears, grab handfuls of fur and attempt to catch wagging tails. Why would we believe our dogs would be okay with having these things done to them? Why would we assume that just because our dogs live in our houses and play with our kids that they wouldn’t reach their limit as to how much they’re willing to tolerate? We do… we respond by crying, stomping around and sometimes acting like wild folks. And unfortunately, some people lash out by physically harming our kids. The difference is that we know better, our dogs do not.

My French Bulldog, Charlotte, is a sweet, loving and affectionate little girl. I’ve never had a dog with such a calm disposition. Charlotte loves everyone and gets upset if she sees someone in the distance who isn’t coming up to greet her and give her a pet or two. Because of her terrific nature, we belong to a local Animal Assisted Therapy Group called”Dogs On Call”. We visit in three hospitals, 1 health care centre and see many, many students at the University during mid-terms and finals… petting a dog really can relieve a whole lot of test stress and anxiety. In addition, we attend a lot of events where children are present… kids who run up to Charlotte and start petting her without asking. (But then, there are a lot of adults that do the same thing) Due to the unpredictability of the environment, I have Charlotte on a short leash in front of me or right at my side… and I have one eye on her. Just because I know her inside and out and feel her to be this superb furry critter, does not mean that she won’t react to a surprise tug on her ear or a tug on her tail. Dogs react to actual and perceived risks to protect themselves and their nearest and dearest. And even though I love to believe that Charlotte is the kindest, sweetest, most gentle dog in the world, I also need to remember that when all is said and done, Charlotte remains only a dog.

I don’t know what happened in the babysitter’s home the day of the Pit Bull attack. I don’t understand the temperaments of the Pit Bulls or the way they were treated and trained. But just because they attacked this kid, we can’t assume that these were bad dogs who were mishandled or defeated by their owners. We’ve all heard the frightening stories about the Pit Bulls and Rottweilers and other big dogs who have maimed or killed people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time… dogs who were mistreated or abandoned to their own devices or dogs that were trained to fight and kill smaller, weaker animals in a ring. These stories leave us sick and in utter disbelief… how can somebody do this do their dog? And after we read or hear about how badly these dogs were treated, how they were starved or beaten or raised without affection and love, we might find ourselves saying”well no wonder they assaulted a kid… no wonder they bit that adult.” When we hear about a family dog doing the same thing… a dog that has been loved and cherished and taken care of because he was a baby… a puppy who has been well socialized, taken to puppy classes, obedience classes and possibly even become a therapy dog, we react in disbelief. “The dog was so loving and well trained, how could this have happened?” Of course, the chances that a dog will bite are greatly diminished if he’s in a loving home with all the amenities including training classes. But it behooves us to remember that dog attacks and dog bites can and do occur… even with the most loving, friendly dogs on earth.

I’ve communicated with a few family dogs that have bitten… and most of the time that the bite has occurred because”Tucker” felt threatened or was startled from a deep sleep or was being hurt in some way. If the bite occurs when interacting with a relative, the dog will sometimes feel sorrow and shame at having bitten and caused harm and injury. However, not all the time… there are dogs that say”I warned Alice… I growled and told her to leave me alone, but she just kept poking me so I bit her. So”Tucker” got his point across and hopefully Alice learned to not poke him anymore. And… hopefully”Tucker’s” biting times are over. I tell people who employ me to talk to their dogs about snacks that just because I have a conversation with their dog and ask him why he little and by-the-way please don’t do it anymore… does not mean it won’t happen again. If the dog is put in the identical scary situation as before, whether real or perceived, he may react the same way and bite someone else. There are no easy answers, but definitely keeping the dog from the scary situation would go a long way to keeping everyone safe, including the dog.

There is much controversy over what to do with a family dog who bites someone. Obviously a lot depends on the circumstances… how serious the bite is and why the bite happened in the first location. Most bites occur due to handler error. That’s us… we are either doing or not doing something which has set up the scenario in which our dogs respond and lash out. That is why it’s so important that we always keep at least one eye on our dogs when small children are around or when we are out in a public venue with them. Our dogs will exhibit”calming signals” when they are feeling cornered or put upon. These”calming signals” are saying…”I’m stressed, don’t hurt me, leave me alone”. What are a few calming signals? There are lots more calming signals that your dog may display that will tell you he’s in trouble, he needs you to get him from this situation or he needs your help to make things better. That is when we can step in to change the course of events, to keep a bite or an attack from occurring. It’s possibly the most important task we have as pet owners… staying alert to our dog’s behaviour and then reacting to it to keep everyone safe and injury-free.

Health risk with tattoos

Henna Hands Mehendi Pattern Female Palms D

Abstract

The detrimental side effects of tattoos are known, but are often being ignored. Many just assume that tattooing is safe due to its popularity. Others simply fail to do their research before being injected with dies, plastics and paints. Many feel that because tattoo parlors are regulated, then the ink should be to, but that is just not true. The possibility of infection with life altering infections is also present. The biggest health risk is because of heavy metal poisoning because of tattoo ink. There are things everyone should know before they’re tattooed. I will endeavor to notify you of the major risks.

Risks
There are ways to avoid these effects of tattooing and I will share those with you. But first, let’s look at some statistics.

According to Statistic Brain (2016),
• Americans spend a whopping 1.655 Billion dollars on tattoos yearly.
• Americans who have at least one tattoo totals 45 Million people.
• The proportion of individuals who regret getting a tattoo is 17%.

Why are People Getting Tattoos?

These statistics are staggering numbers to me. It’s surprising that this many people want to risk their health to skin art. Individuals are motivated to get tattoos for many different reasons which range from sporting art on their skin, remembering a loved one or to look sexy or dangerous. The motivation is unimportant for today’s topic, but I just wanted to give you a little background.

The Hazards of Tattoo Ink Carriers

What are the dangers of tattoo ink carriers? Carriers are utilized to maintain the ink, plastic or paint evenly distributed during application and inhibits the growth of pathogens (bacteria/viruses). Please understand that these ingredients are not regulated for use in tattooing by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) in most states.
• Ethyl Alcohol – rubbing alcohol is for use externally and should not be injected into the skin. It can cause skin drying, irritation and can negatively affect nerves.
• Glycerin – it is the sugar alcohol glycerol and may cause increased nausea and bleeding.
• Listerine – is an alcohol based mixture of menthol, methyl salicylate, thymol (from thyme oil), and eucalyptol (liquid derived from eucalyptus oil). It can cause skin irritation and localized allergic reactions.
• Propylene Glycol – is the primary ingredient in antifreeze which can be damaging to your liver and kidneys.

The Hazards of Tattoo Ink

This was only the carriers. What is in each color of ink? Many of these inks have ingredients that you shouldn’t even apply to the skin, much less inject into the bloodstream rick lower layer of skin. The epidermis is the outer layer of skin that’s composed of dead skin cells and functions as an entire body bandage. It protects us from germs and viruses. The dermis is the living skin underneath the skin. Matters injected into the dermis can be carried away by the blood to all areas of the body. That’s why we get infections once we have a cut or scrape of our skin. The protective epidermis is damaged.

What is in the ink? Most inks contain acrylic resin (plastic molecules), but they also contain other components. They’re listed below by color according to Helmenstine (2017) and my own study.

• Black ink – Iron oxide (rust), charcoal or carbon – this is probably the least dangerous ink. The quantity of Iron oxide should be inadequate to cause iron toxicity. Ask the tattoo artist to use purified water as a carrier.
• Blue Ink – Copper, carbonite (azurite), sodium aluminum silicate (lapus lazuli), calcium copper silicate (Egyptian blue), cobalt aluminum oxides and chromium oxides. Copper can contribute or lead to heavy metal poisoning. Aluminum has been proven to feature to Alzheimer’s disease and gastrointestinal disorders.
• Brown ink – Iron oxide and iron ochre clay – this is probably as secure as black ink and for the same reasons. Lead chromate comes from lead which is poisonous even in low doses. Cu phthalocyanine is an unregulated compound of copper and can cause skin irritation and respiratory irritation.
• Orange ink – Disazodiarylide and/or disazopyrazolone, and cadmium sulfate make orange ink. The first two are considered safe, but the cadmium sulfate is deemed toxic and possibly cancer causing.
• Purple – Manganese violet, quinacridone and dioxazine and the first of these is deemed safe.
• Red – Cinnabar, cadmium red, iron oxide and naphthol-AS pigment are the various components of red ink. It is considered by most to be the most hazardous color of tattoo ink. Cadmium sulfate is derived from lead and is poisonous. Yellow derived from the spice turmeric or curcuma yellow is deemed safe. The problem with yellow is the volume that must be used to provide a vibrant yellow color, so local irritation of the skin often occurs.
• White – Titanium dioxide, lead white, barium sulfate and zinc oxide (the stuff you smear on your nose at the beach). Titanium dioxide has caused cancer in lab animals. Lead white is regarded as a cancer causing agent in humans. Barium comes from the metal barium and can be used in barium swallows for gastrointestinal tests, but when injected can cause skin irritation.
• Glow in the dark ink – composed of compounds that are toxic and in some cases radioactive. This again is unregulated in most states.

Some of the compounds can be considered secure, but testing still has to be done. Some of these compounds are toxic and can cause heavy metal poisoning as the copper, lead, cadmium, chromium, aluminum and arsenic leach into your blood stream. Aluminum inks may also hasten the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.

Some of these inks cause cancer and have known mutagenic properties (cause mutations and birth defects) per Genser (2007). The FDA should be regulating these inks, but in most countries they are not. The majority of states have started regulating tattoo parlors though and at least that’s a start.

Regulation of tattoo parlors has significantly diminished the rate of severe infection. The use of disposable needles has made the fantastic effects. Regulation and disposable one-use needles have removed this danger (as long as the regulations are followed).

One other major concern with tattoo art is the fact that lifesaving MRI scans can’t be achieved in certain instances. This is because the compounds in the ink cause intense burning pain for the patient. This could cause resulting misdiagnosis or the inability to diagnose.

You will find safe tattoo inks out there that are willing to disclose their tattoo formulas. There are several more that are dangerous tattoo inks that are unregulated. Many manufacturers refuse to divulge the formula as confidential proprietary information. The carriers used to evenly distribute ink can also potentially be unsafe. Both the inks or carriers are not regulated by the FDA and regulation of tattoo art is the responsibility of each individual condition.

Conclusion

Tattoo at your own risk. Tattoos can be hazardous or safe based on your preparation for the tattoo. Talk to the tattoo artist. Ask them with the composition of the ink. Choose your colors by which colors are least toxic. Make sure the tattoo artist’s shop has an active Health Department certificate. If you believe you must get a tattoo, please do your research and make an educated decision. Personally, I suggest that you don’t get a tattoo. There are simply too many risks for minor discomforts and lingering side effects like cancer, scaring, granulomas, disease, toxicity and infections, per Mishra (2013). I don’t think it’s worth the risk, but it is your body. Just please study-up and make an educated decision.

Titanium, Stainless Steel, and Natural Clay

Cook Kitchen Cooking Pot Ladles Eat Cookin

While searching for the safest cookware, 1 thing that is extremely significant is how responsive the bud’s raw material is? These chemicals that have leached in the marijuana are of no nutritional value in the human body but can cause many diseases if permitted to accumulate in the body. Titanium, stainless steel and natural clay -The first two are remarkably popular for making cooking pots, the previous one is gaining momentum because of its health value along with other manmade substances, Let us figure out which is the safest cookware among the three?

Titanium

Titanium is metal extracted from its ore rutile, by decrease through chlorides and/or magnesium. Amongst its different applications, it’s also used for making surgical inserts or cartilage and bone replacements within the body. As a result of this reason, it’s a common belief that it can not do any harm in the body. To start with, Titanium is a reactive component and reacts with common elements within the air like nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, and water to form several compounds. As a result of this, it’s surely reactive to food, particularly during cooking! Since heat is a catalyst for many responses.

This metal is available in various grades, the popular ones (general purpose) are 304 and 316. These components are highly reactive and break down as ions when food is cooked in stainless steel. These combine with nutrients in meals and form toxic compounds which are harmful in the body. As an example, a very small quantity of concentration of nickel may lead to kidney dysfunction, low blood pressure, muscle tremors, oral cancer, skin problems etc.. Obviously, if you’re looking for the safest cookware, you would not need to select Stainless Steel.

This substance is all-natural and is frequently known as’principal clay’ in its purest form. Principal clay is obviously inert and it does not contain any chemicals or metallic toxins such as Titanium or Stainless Steel. Natural clay is a 100% pure ingredient in character like rainwater and as it’s naturally detoxing, it doesn’t take to itself any contaminants! Additionally, it can’t be used for farming since this soil becomes very rigid and hard and doesn’t enable the plant’s root system to flourish.

An easy baking soda evaluation performed on these materials also demonstrates that the pot made from unglazed main clay does not leach anything whilst cooking. So the safest material for making cookware is organic clay – regardless of how much we experiment with various materials, this organic material surpasses them all!

The Great Outdoors – Magnificent Sights, Experiences and Memories

Free stock photo of people, picnic, summer, friends

The great outdoors, a magnificent and extraordinary experience which may be shared with friends and loved ones. As a whole, we’re so caught up with our own lives which we do not make the time required to enjoy the littlest of things in life, relax and unwind. In today’s society, we’re all about work-work-work… Our programs are so full and crammed with meetings and work-related issues that we forget about some of the truly wonderful things life has to offer, like character.

Nature is such a lovely and complex marvel yet the majority of us spend little time researching it — even in our own backyards. If you were to ask any handful of people in Orange County, California if they have been to any of the surrounding national parks like Yosemite, or Yellowstone you’d be surprised (or not) by the amount of those who have been to places like this. In the last few years, I have grown very fond of being out in the wilderness. It is such a refreshing and revitalizing hobby and on top of that, it’s basically free.

Camping is such a terrific hobby to pick-up and although acquiring equipment may be an initial investment, depending on the sort of camping you want, you may hardly need to spend any money in any way. Some campers love backpacking, and although I can gladly say I have done this once – it was also an entirely terrifying experience for me. Other folks prefer to go”glamping” that is more of a”glamourous” experience; blow-up mattresses, A/C, showers, fancy portable sofas and some take it a step farther with RV camping.

There are so many sights to see and places to visit that one could never explore it all in a lifetime. Still, creating a bucket-list of all the places you want to travel to is such a thrill and brings so much excitement when you can actually check an item off the list. Like previously mentioned, camping can be shared with both friends and family members. No matter what age you’re there is always enough of mother nature to share and make new memories.

Do you ever wonder what the Milky Way looks like when it is fully visible? The city lifestyle doesn’t give us much of an opportunity to really lay back and respect the world. Take the night skies for example — the light pollution is so terrible that from most urban areas the only things visible in the sky are helicopters, jets and clouds/smog. Imagine leaning back in your comfortable camping chair, the only light visible comes from a dimly lit campfire and a streak of light immediately shoots across your field of view. You look up and the sky becomes its own magnificent show, full of countless stars, and you see another streak of light shoot across the sky.

In southern California there are a lot of places you can visit with breath-taking views. The thing I like most about Southern California is how close everything is. In what other places could you drive for only 1-2 hours and be not only on the beach, but also in the mountains, at a lake or even camping in the wilderness? Mother nature won’t always be around, and it’s sad to think that we take the beauty of our world for granted. The next time you are feeling adventurous, why not get out and explore, you will be truly amazed by just how much beauty there is on this planet.

Have fun painting rocks

Rocks, Paintings, Sculpture, Artistic

Rock painting could be man’s unique art form, but these days it is probably the simplest and most enjoyable way to learn Bee Removal Orlando to paint. The reason is simple; painting on something that already has shape and dimension is like taking a shortcut to great results. When compared with the challenges of creating a lifelike image on a flat surface, figuring out perspective, filling in foregrounds and backgrounds, trying to achieve the appearance of dimension, all are things that tend to be intimidating for new painters. On the other hand, painting on a rock that already has a form and measurement is so much easier. In fact, 1 painter noted that painting on rocks is more like coloring, and, after all,’anyone can color!’

Finding good stones to paint is a major part of the fun of the activity. Where else can you find such exciting art material lying around on the floor? Start looking for stones that have smooth shapes.

To begin, you need only a handful of basic colors. Acrylic paint works best and some brands even have a built in sealer so the paint will hold up well even when the finished rock art is displayed outdoors. Get the primary colors, plus black and white, and you will have the ability to create almost any other color you might need. A few inexpensive brushes (I really like the stiff, white bristled ones you can pick up at those’everything for $1.00 shops in sets of 4 or 5), plus at least one narrow liner brush for producing lines, are normally all you will need to get started. Lay out old newspaper to protect your surface and slow down clogs.

You might start with something as simple as a ladybug or butterfly, drawing on the round or triangular designs using a pencil. Fill in the shapes with base colors, then, once the paint is dry, return with a smaller brush and insert the details which will make the piece come to life; the spots on the lady bug’s back, or the dots and patterns to decorate the butterfly wings. Otherwise, just allow the mistake dry, then paint over it. You simply can not’ruin’ a rock! This, in turn, helps them to achieve even better results, because creativity flourishes when you aren’t feeling fearful. Many rock painters got their start with very simple pieces and improved quickly to making harder artwork.

“I used to think I couldn’t even draw a stick figures and now people call me an artist!” Is something stone painters frequently tell me.

Whether you are longing to uncover your hidden artistic talents or only want to have a fun time with friends or family, discover the fun and pleasure of rock painting. I guarantee you’ll never look at stones the exact same way again!

Interesting facts about Toothpicks

Toothpick Wood Close Up Annual Rings Tooth

The toothpick is a very simple instrument with a simple purpose. We may not give it a second thought as we pick one up, free our teeth from discomfort and unsightly food stays, and then casually toss it away. Love these ten interesting facts about the humble toothpick:

1. Skulls considered to belong to Neanderthals show signs of getting their teeth picked clean by some sort of tool.

2. From the 17th Century, toothpicks used by the upper classes were cherished enough to be made from gold, silver or ivory and a few were even inlaid with precious stones.

3. The state of Maine is the biggest toothpick producer. It is estimated that about 90% of the nation’s toothpicks are made in this state.
